August 14, 2025Recently read about the notion put forth before the Hon’ble Karnataka High Court regarding exemption of requirement for Occupancy Certificate for building constructions that are constructed on an area of less than 12,000 sq. feet.
After going into the details I have realized that certain notions should never take a shape of law. This shall not only in some manner promote illegal construction but also relinquish the builders from being answerable to home occupiers if their happens to be any sort of defect in the premises making it inhabitable for them. Worst part being the home buyers shall have no legal backup if they ever face such a situation.
